Time Management

I as at Marshall's today, contemplating deeply the possibility of purchasing a set of martini glasses (no, not for alcohol, believe it or not) - but because I LOVE ceviche and want to learn to make it. A fun way to serve it happens to be in a martini glass, and I want to make it and have people over for dinner (it's no fun to just cook for 1!). For those of you who don't live so close to the border and don't know, ceviche is a wonderous blend of shrimp, peppers, spices, lime, and various other things that make it a fabulous mixture to eat with chips.

Why the diatribe on ceviche and martini glasses? Well, I didn't buy them. As I stood there, paralyzed by indecision, I started thinking about my upcoming months and year and how much time I need to start devoting to the GMAT and the application process. Then I thought about how much grad school is going to cost (yikes) and the fact that I really should be saving money right now. THEN I thought about the fact that I was standing there weighing one of the biggest dreams in my life (MBA from a top 5) with a shrimp appetizer.

Although I'm sure there was no suspense, I went with the big dream. I love my friends and plan to spend a lot of time with them in the next few years before I move cross country, but I will be doing it in ways that don't require a lot of prep work on my part.

I'm excited about the prep. Despite the MBA applicant blog addiction that I mentioned in my last post, I do enjoy the research, the excitement, and the suspense of the application process. It makes me a little nuts, but I do love it, and can't wait for the next year or so.

Here goes...
